Default Curvy brakelight issue.

01 curvy S
Hi again knowledgeable org'ers, in need of another bailout. Replaced a faulty rear light bulb (the non braking light part had died).
The issue now is that the brake lights won't activate when i press the front brake, still working when i press the rear brake.
I've tried pulling apart and reattaching the plastic connectors at both ends and checking for loose wires on them both, i've even tried changing the bulbs back which i rightly assumed would be pointless it seems. Am i missing something simple?

Dont much fancy going to the garage or having a car shunt me as they didnt know i was braking - i rarely use the back brake

cheers guys n gals

Default Re: Rear brakelight issue

Take the two wires off of the front brake light switch, with the ignition on touch them together, does the brake light come on? If yes the switch isn't working, if no then check for V+ on one and continuity to rear light connector on the other.

If the switch is dud, remove it, (one screw), and try filling it with WD40 or similar and clicking the little button about 38,000 times, this often works to clean the contacts off.
