Default Dirtbag Neighbours!

Got back home tonight to find my bike on its side in the car park of my flats, no note left of course. My bike is parked pretty much next to my brothers bike which was still on its wheels so this being a random act of vandalism by scrotes is doubtful.

I have informed the police at the local station, where while the officer was nice, she effectively said there wasn't much could or would be done with no CCTV around.

So with being in the firm frame of mind one of my neighbours has knocked the bike over with their car and kept quiet, any suggestions what I could do next? I have left a vaguely strongly worded note on the door of the flats but predictably I now just feel angry and powerless.

Letting all their tyres down is tempting but childish...

That sucks. No paint or anything left on your bike?

Cant tell yet too dark but I don't think so. Will have been hit pretty lightly I assume as its right at the edge of the car park, so they wouldn't have been going quick.

that sucks. but at the same time you cant blame them due to the cost of insurance these days.

ask around the neighbours that like you if they seen anything.

inspect the back of peoples cars in the daylight, if anyone asks what your doing then politely tell them the police asked you to take note of all the damaged cars in the carpark for their investigations, it will probably scare them then they might fess up, even if they don't it would give me a tiny bit of satisfaction knowing that the perpetrator could be soiling themselves.. the knock will come one day, BUT WHEN!!!! aarrrggghhh!!!! *parff*

no point in random acts of carmageddon if you can't be sure who it was.

Sucks but it happens. I've had a bike moved, a bike knocked over and a car badly dented - 99% sure of the perp for the last one but no way of proving it.

Do as Gav suggests and be seen checking the cars. You might want to alter your door message too to say that the police have asked for witnesses - the "strong words" may have the opposite effect.

Cheers chaps, calmed down today and taken solace in the fact that the side the bike landed on was the slightly damaged side anyways. Having looked today the only extra damage caused by the knock was my wing mirror. The bike is now in my parents garage for the winter while I cruise stylishly on my brothers diversion 600 winter hack

My mates suggestion was good, he said to strap 2 pillows to each side of the bike and next time it will just look like its sleeping... nice!

There is nothing you can do. It's pointless looking for paint, it won't change anything.
