Got my heated grips all wired in and working fine but am not sure where to mount the control unit.
It comes with a bracket designed to be fitted to the handlebar ![]() as shown in the above picture. I have a pointy faired SV and there isn't enough room on the clip ons for the above bracket to be mounted. The adhesive patch provided isn't strong enough hold it onto any other face. So my question is, where have you guys mounted your bracket for the unit? Pictures would be very helpful! P.s I don't have the tools / materials / workshop to make my own custom bracket |

Id replace the adhesive patch with a grippier adhesive patch myself. Even the rubbish Oxford ones have a pretty decent adhesive patch.
When i had the oxford ones, for all of the 5 or 6 seconds they worked before they failed that is, i had my controler stuck to the left side by the clocks, its not there now so i can post a pic, lol.

If its inside the cockpit area then the wind and rain really dont get to it much as you ride, so if it does start to peel away you'll notice it and peel it off and replace the sticky bit.
its very unlikely it'll ever fall off without you noticing or when you're riding, its not that heavy a unit is it? Anyway i wanna hear how good these are as im thinking of getting me some of these you see. Haha, its Spidey's civil duty to help the mere mortals ![]()

Well I tried the adhesive patch that R&G provided and it fell off within a minute. Stationary.
Perhaps I'll see if I can get some stronger ones off the internet, I hear there are some great things on there ![]() I'll let you know how it goes Spidey! |

Nah the internet is pants, it only got a few pages and there are all a bit dull imho.
if its that bad then even some double sided sticky tape on the current sticky bit might just do the trick?

Have just ordered this, plan on using velcro to attach it to the bike and can also be easily taken off when storing it overnight to prevent it being stolen. Says heavy duty and weather resistant so hopefully it'll work! Only £1.79 so could be a cheap solution!
