Default Isle of Man TT

Hi there,

I'm toying with the idea of going to the TT this year, just wondering whether it's too late to book ferry tickets? Where have people gotten tickets from when going there with their bike? I live in the Oxfordshire area and presume my best bet is from Liverpool? Have people gone by bike and camped? Any tips or not-so-well kept secrets such as accommodation and things not found on the tourist guides which add to the experience would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have to book ferry tickets a year in advance?

Well I'm planning on going next year but the ferry rates are horrendous , I think it's about £250 for a single bike

The bookings open mad sunday and payment is December, and most the sites are booked the same weekend
Fyne Pioneer might have the powerboat spots left

If you want to go to the IoM for racing this year try for the Manx or Southern

yep, we booked the day the bookings opened and didn't get the crossing we wanted, having to stay on an extra 2 days after it all finishes

Book your ferry tickets as soon as it ticket sales open.
Usually just before / just after TT finishes.

You may still be able to get on this years ferry is you are lucky.

All tickets need to be paid for in full by February 28th 2013 so if people don't pay or forfeit their ticket (which a lot of people do as they pay their deposit and hope that they can get over there) then that space becomes available again.

So have a look on that date and you may get a crossing
