Default Britten track test in this week's MCN

Was good to see the only running Britten getting a thrashing round a track in New Zealand, as it brought back a few memories of the highs (and lows) of watching it racing at the T.T. in the 90's.
I missed it's debut in the '93 Senior, the race was delayed by weather, heard the commentary on the boat home.
Had just arrived the following year when we heard of Mark Farmer's tragic death, Nick Jefferies bravely carried on but had mechanical failures in both races.
Shaun Harris, who raced it on it's debut brought it home in about 36th in the '96 Senior getting a winners cheer from everyone at where we were watching at Rhen Cullen, they had raised the gearing on it so it would last the distance which made it a pig to bump start which cost quite a bit of time.

Some of it, particuarly the frame/suspension was way ahead of it's time even now 20 years on.
