Default Help needed at Silverstone

Some of you may have heard of The Bike Experience. We are a charity that teaches disabled motorcyclists how to get back on a bike and riding again. For the past two years we operated out of Castle Combe and have had volunteers come to help the charity from the 'Orgers' in the South West area. This season we are working out of Silverstone and I was wondering if any of you up in the Midlands were available to help out with the charity?

The role is simple, launching and catching of a disabled rider. We have had 60yr old ladies do this role, so it's not just for the burly men. We need you there at 8.30am and we finish at 2.30pm. The location is the Old Copse Runway, which is easy to find, directed from the main gate is simple.

Please look at the charity facebook site or website (www.tbex.co.uk) for more info.

Our next four dates are:
7th May, 20th May, 4th June, 3rd July.

Best to email me with any offers of help (tskeelspiggins@hotmail.com)

Many thanks
Talan

Hi Talan,

My employer has an Authorised absence policy which could potentially allow me to help out up to two days a year. I think that is a really great cause and I'd love to be involved.

The two requirements according to the policy document is that I provide documentation from the charity detailing the type of work (catching motorcycles...) and that the charity confirm that they have employee liability insurance (I can't imagine they don't).

Is that something you've gone through before, or would be willing to do?

I know it said to email with offers but myself and a friend may be a possibility.

He has damaged his leg so cant walk or ride at the moment but could hopefully make the June or July dates.

I'll keep you posted

We are a registered charity. The type of work is "Assisting disabled motorcyclists with tasks such as getting changed into leathers, getting on the motorcycle, launching and catching motorcycle with disabled rider onboard." We have PLi to £10 million with Employee Insurance too.

Let me know which dates - the full list is on website and facebook page. Cheers
Talan
