Default CB500 oil level - dipstick screwed in or not?

Looking for a list of haynes manuals online as i need one for my 1998 cb500 but cant seem to find any free, scribd have one but without paying you can only see a few pages. Any ideas?

I dont mind paying but im only gona have the bike til august and all i want to find out it whether i should screw the dipstick in or not to take a measurement :P

Dipstick oil level is usually measured with dipstick fully in - I.e. remove dipstick, wipe with rag, screw it back in, remove and check level.

Well this is the way ive topped my oil up on the 500 before and never had any trouble but just wanted to be 100% sure..

Depends - some are measured dipstick in, some not.

OP: Ask a Honda dealer - I'm sure they'll tell you.

Screwing it in, (oooer!), will mean a low oil level if it's wrong. Not good.

Have you got a local library? ( Reading Library )
If so, borrow or browse it.
