Yeah I've seen a few threads about desnorkelling completely, but I'm not sure I fancy the increased noise. I think the thou snorkel is a good medium between normal snorkel and no snorkel

They offer no noticeable performance gain no matter which you do. If your not doing it for the noise then I'd suggest not to bother and just stick with the standard one. The increased induction roar is nice but not noticeable when going slow or on a closed throttle, it's only under load that you can hear it.

Hmm I might take it out and see what it's like, easy enough to put it back in again if I don't like it!
