Default Honda CG 125 '91

Hi everyone, new guy here go be gentle

I've got my 1991 CG 125 BR-j for sale. It has MOT until 26th July and tax until 30th June but could renew both for the right price.

I bought it in September 2012 from a guy in Penarth as my first bike after my CBT in August. Learnt over the next few months on L-plates and passed my Mod 1 and 2 in November with no formal tuition :smug: I did bin it once in October but repaired the few bits of damage and what is left is just a skew-whiff and tatty foot peg and a scrape off of the rubber twist grip. All other damaged components were swiftly replaced.

The bike has just over 30000 miles on the clocks, this will continue to rise as I am still using it daily. The useful signs of wear expected of a bike of this age are present and is just cosmetic things like the finish on the engine case, chips on the petrol tank and a 1-2" crack present on the LH panel over the battery. I will try and take as many pics as possible to cover everything.

So far I have doe the following work on the bike:
  • New rectifier/regulator
  • Re done each and every crimp connetor with OEM-style bullets
  • New Yuasa battery
  • Upgraded headlight to that from a Suzuki Bandit and DIY mounted, fitted 35/35w H4 bulb
  • New stator rewound by Pitstop Motorcycles, guaranteed for 12 months
  • Replaced headset bearings
  • Changed fork oil
  • New genuine Honda Exhaust
  • Chain and Sprocket set approx 1000 miles ago
  • New brakes shoes front and rear, again approx 1000 miles ago
  • New front brake cable and speedo drive cable

Bad points:
  • New tyres probably needed in about 1000-2000 miles
  • Various cosmetic things need attention
  • Front mudguard has a bit of the tip missing because of my off, I have a spare that I will spray and fit before letting the bike go, same goes for the chain case which needs a respray in silver

The bike runs fine, starts with one kick with the right technique and currently gets 75-85mpg depending on the sort of the riding you're doing. Maximum speed is roughly 60mph but the bike is most comfortable at 50-55mph, I have taken it on the motorway and gotten 70mph on a slight downhill

Considering all of the above I'm looking for around £600 but will consider any offer you've got. I'm eager to move up in the biking world, ideally to an SV650 so I want to shift this ASAP.
The bike is located in Crewe, Cheshire and I am free pretty much any evening for viewing

Any questions please ask, more pics to follow.

I am taking this off the market for now. Mainly because I haven't had much interest so far or have the money to fund a new bike yet. Also compression seems low and it is losing oil so I will be renewing a few gaskets/oil seals and doing the piston rings shortly. Also some scumbag decided to try and nick my fuel and left the hose running fuel all over the engine case which damaged the silver paint on the side casings!

Hopefully all issues will be sorted and i will be back up for sale in June sometime
