Looks like my sidi vertigo soles have gone the way of the dodo. I cant get new soles (size44) & it's not cost effective to replace them. i've had a look at these.
http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/boots...tar-black.html Any opinions on others?

personally I prefer to have good boots for winter and spend accordingly, winter sees Daytona boots, for summer I use less expensive boots (anything that fits in the £40-£70 range normally obtained from the BMF), the down side is they are seldom waterproof for very long, however I team them up with MVP waterproof socks or you could use sealskinz, which negates the problem, meaning the boot is only for protection and can be used until they fall to bit.

Mine are Oxtars before the name change so even older than that and had a crash too. Three of us rode up to Scotland a few weeks ago, 10 hours in torrential rain and through floods that were stranding cars with water sucked into the engines (two people died in the flooding that day). My feet were the only part of me that were still warm and dry when we reached the hotel. The other two had wet feet.

Another wholehearted vote in favour of TCX Gore TeX boots. Best boots I've had by a long way.
Warm (well, relatively) in winter and cool (well, relatively) in summer. Never leaked a drop despite some horrendous prolonged downpours. Two years on and still in pretty good nick after being used most days and largely neglected - other brands have disintegrated in this time or started leaking badly. And the magic of gore TeX seems to have kept them stink free... (well, relatively) ![]() |
