Default small non bike related project..

just a small self build keeping me busy.. time lapse courtesy of my brother and his go pro 3..

another reason I cant afford a bike atm

there will be more when the roof goes on although I had a small accident a couple of days ago and head butted a scaffold clamp and lacerated my scalp pretty bad, it will be ok in a few days hopefully, I wont post that pic as its a bit gory.

hope your all well and stay safe during silly season.

What are those blocks you're using there? No cavity or are you cladding it with insulation?

+1 I'm guessing a white render to match the rest of the house is going to cover it but I also wonder about a cavity and what blocks they are, 440x220x220? Light weight? Its looking good anyway, I will build something bigger than a flower bed one day I promise.

Not sure our building regs around here would allow these blocks without a cavity, they surely wont meet the insulation values required on a new build, but i wait to be corrected.

They are defo a 9 inch wide block, i thought they were trench blocks at first.

They are celcon solar blocks 610x215 x 200 clad with60 mm k5 insulation and monocoche render, smashes required u value at .21

It's a thin joint mortar system too so only a 3mm bed, would have been better if the blocks came in square!!

It's going up ok, poured the footings first weekend in may and done pretty much it all with just me and my bro, wall plates are on so just need to order roofing gear now
