Default Brakes feel weak after removing and refitting wheels? Curvy.

Hey all,

Recently had tyres changed on my 99 curvy so I removed the front calipers to aid getting the front wheel off.

Since re-fitting the wheel + calipers I've noticed my brakes feel quite a lot weaker than they used to.
This could be because I got a small amount of grease on the discs when I was refitting the wheel, but I cleaned them thoroughly afterwards.

I shouldn't need to bleed the brakes just from removing the calipers, anyone got any suggestions? Is it just that the pads may need to bed in if they're in ever so slightly a different position than before?

Thanks for any help.

I had this feeling when I had my tyres changed. They settled back in with use. Maybe because the pads have been disturbed and need to bed in?

I'll go for a long ride today and see if I can get it to feel normal again

I'm off for a 1500mile trip down to Spain to watch the Aragon MotoGP in a couple weeks so I want to be 100% confident in my bike before I go Tyres, chain + sprockets changed, oil + filter replaced and I'm happy now so long as I can get confidence in the brakes again.

Even a small amount of grease will totally knacker the pads. I'd give it a couple of hundred miles to bed in and if you don't get any joy then replace the pads and give the discs a good clean with some spirit based brake cleaner.

Pump up the brakes so the pads are touching and go for a quick brake test.
If no joy, bleed the brakes and give them a clean
