Default SV650S exorcism

Now, I'm not usually a paranoid or superstitious, but I genuinely believe that my bike is possessed and is trying to kill me periodically!

I bought my bike back in April 2011, almost 3 months later I got T-boned by someone on a mini roundabout that didn't look before they pulled out. Was injured and unable to ride for 2 years. Finally managed to get back on it again back in June, and then again, almost 3 months after I got back on it give or take a week from the time spent riding the first time, I was knocked off again. This time I was taken out by a woman pulling in on top of me without looking if it was clearly so I was wedged in between her car and the kerb, hit her mirror and sent flying down the dual carriageway.

The fact that this is my 4th bike - I never had any accidents on my first 3, and passed my bike test with no minors whatsoever on either part of the test, I think I can safely say I am a fair rider - I do genuinely believe that my beloved bike is under the control of satan. Anybody here know the ritual for performing an exorcism on a motorbike?? It would be greatly appreciated (i might have to ask my local church if I can have some holy water to fill up my radiator)

I can bless your bike for you, I am a real vicar and everythink!

I blessed the fish tank at work a while back and all of the fish lived after that.

I would suggest that you check out this film for tips on this how to deal with this problem.

Alternatively, have a chat with your local advanced riding instructor or Police training person.

All that, and stop trusting the f***ers in the metal boxes. When I was learning to ride the instructor explained this in simple terms, "There are two kinds of motorists in the world. Those that are trying to kill you, and those that haven't seen you yet."

there sorted.

every single other road user is a threat, yes even other motorcyclists. this also includes your riding buddies.

look up and look around, the further you look the more your brain has a chance of prediction. narrow vision will get you killed.

I'll offer a slightly different correction...

More seriously, I'll quote the good book at this point:

Quote:
If you think that you did not help to cause a collision, you will also think that you have nothing to learn from it.
It sounds like you've had two right of way violation incidents, which are the most common form of collision. The trick to avoiding them is to see if there is a way to make yourself seen (or heard) in situations where there is this risk.

Louder pipe, i have less issues with people pulling out now the baffle is out, a lot less than when the pipe was standard. still happens, but massive change in frequency.

Pc Plod did comment that it was missing the other day when i got pulled over for speeding though - poor obvs + excitement from a group of fellows pulling up behind me - but sadly his radar gun didn't 'lock' me, so was just a telling off.

And people like you are the bane of my life. I live in flats on a fairly busy road. Apart from the odd lorry/bus, the only serious noise intrusion I get is bikers, generally the idiots with loud pipes, or spotty teenagers with sad pipes on their 33mph scooters. On even a short journey, you might impact on the lives of thousands of people, just because, and frankly, "safety" is the last reason for self justification of a loud pipe, it gives you the personal horn. if you cant ride in a way thats safe for you, then dont just ruin everyone elses life by being a selfish ****, perhaps stop riding.

I have a quiet pipe, and I'm still alive after 13 years and 2 low speed non faults where proper anticipation of the dangers limited the damage.

I don't mean to sound overly agressive, but I know tomorrow is Sunday, and that from 8:30 onwards whilst I try for a lie in, all those born again bankers with their "screamin eagle stage 2's" will be doing the legal limit whist rocking the foundations of the flat on their way to Box Hill. About 2 hours later the weekend warriors with their low mileage blades will follow. And then they all go home between 4 and 6.....

You know, with all the self pitying, (as evidenced by the legal industry marketing to them), and the posturing, I really begin to hate "Bikers", rather than people who just happen to use a bike.
