Org whisky forum? - SV650.org

Please accept I have had a few over my allowance.

So. I would like to explore the potential for a gentlemens, and ladies if so inclined whisky forum. The intention of such is to introduce like minded individuals to new tastes and at the same time educate and entertain.

Bearing in mind that if we are to explore a shared pleasure of alcohol. It is best done away from premises that would expect you to pay over the odds. Therefore a home hosting.

How would those interested feel about something based on the host lays on three bottles of his or hers selected whiskys to an appreciative palate of a small group of invited guests. Those guests agreeing to do similar. Maybe with an accompaniment of genuinely local nibbles. etc.

Obviously because of the nature of the evening, local hotel info or crash space would be a precursor, no one drives or rides away.

Early days. Would this be of interest.

Sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately everyone who is likely to be interested will be those who live a disgusting amount of miles away.

Sadly I don't think the idea would work as Matt says the mileage would be too awkward. It'd be nice and I'd like it but the geographical difference would make it too difficult. Also I imagine Whisky is too much of a niche, a generic drinkers meet/hangout might work.... Org's virtual pub, drink what you like on a webcam chat with the other drinkers of the night.

We could record it and post it to iTunes as a podcast. We could call it "the drunken ravings of a group of madmen" or "D.R.G.O.M"
