SV650 K4 Engine compatibility? - SV650.org

Hi all,

currently looking for a new engine for my K4, what lumps get can go into the frame.

Can the twin spark engines go in if mine is single spark?

Any SV650 engine will physically fit, obviously another single spark FI motor will be the least work, Curvy motors are also a simple fit using some parts from your original engine. I know a single spark Pointy with a twin plug motor that just has the central plug connected and the other left in place redundant - seems to work OK.

How hard is it for a curvy curvy engine to be put in a pointy?

Not hard at all. You'll need to use your original inlet rubbers, alternator rotor, stator and wiring. If your original motor's cam are OK use those too - not completely necessary but then your Curvy motor will essentially be in Pointy spec.
