I'm currently with EE and the service is crap. For the past month I've had totally unusable slow mobile Internet, I can get a slow connection in early morning presumably as people are still yet to wake up but by 1pm it's unusable. Constantly drops out and when I can get connected it can take 2-5 mins to load up a page then drops out before the page is loaded.
My contract runs out in November but I don't want to wait until then. I also don't want to by the contract out and give these robbing barstewards anymore money. I will raise a complaint first but as this is likely to just waste yet more of my life, does anyone know of any loop hole allowing me to leave because of lack of service? |

Yes and no mate.
Have you contacted them about it previously? If so and they have done network tests etc and are unable to offer a solution then you can possibly get out of it as it is not fit for purpose. If not do that first at least a few times so they can see you are not getting suitable service. Where do you get the trouble? Is it everywhere or main place of work etc etc. If it's your home and work where you spend most of your time you are more likely to be able to get out but not guaranteed. They may offer an alternative, I'm on 3 and my parents house is like a SCIF so really bad signal, they sent me a signal booster which connects to broadband and generates a network signal. EE may have similar or an app (if you have a smart phone) that uses your plan over wifi. Oh and I totally get your frustration. I swapped my iPad data plan from 3 to EE as coverage and speeds were meant to be better. I got faster 3G speeds on 3 than 4G speeds with EE.

Ok assumptions made:
Orange customer taking out/ renewing on or after 30 October 2012 but before 23 January 2014. You might be able to get out without a cancellation charge. Terms and conditions (to which I can send a link later) section 4.4 may cover you.

November 2012 would have been when I got the phone and contract from car phone warehouse. Coverage was fine when I started.
Sorry struggling with connection. |

With the 3g handsets on ee, they haven't been able to resolve the issues. Have had the same problems in Newcastle City centre.
I'm on a 4G deal now and it's been fine

I got out of a contract with EE with 17 months to run (of a 24 month contract) for the same problem. I was on Orange previously, and politely told them what they could do with their contract.
Of course the telephone monkeys will tell you that it's no good, but I finally got through to a lady who was very helpful and knew what she was talking about. She agreed for me to cancel my contract, to give me a goodwill gesture, and refund the money on the account (I had overpaid by about £150). I also had to send back my phone, but in my opinion, I hadn't paid for it by this point so I was fine with that. Badger them, badgers them some more. Tell them it's a breach of contract issue and you need to speak to someone who understands basic business. ![]() |
