What Headlight bulb for the 01 SV650S? - SV650.org

Ok I perfer a blue or purple bulb in my bikes head light, I can't find the stock bulb listed anywhere though, what is it? Thanks

Hi mate i think it would be an H4 head lamp bulb,The part number in the trade is (472).i would go for an osram or philips 50% brighter bulb and then get a colour filter 2 fit over the bulb?i have osram silver stars in my bike,and the light from my head lamp is very clean and crisp not milky like a log of bulbs are.Hope this helps

Agree with freelander there.

I haven't got them in the SV, but I've fitted Osram Silverstars in the Toyota to replace the original bulbs, interestingly they were bog standard Osram H4 bulbs, so it gives a direct comparison of the effectiveness of the Silverstar spec.

Yes, they give crisp and clean white light, and noticeably better illumination at say 50-100m range, they do what they claim. Also they say they have filters to make them OK with plastic lenses (the Toyota has plastic H/lamp lenses).

If you want "better" H/lamps, I recommend them, if you want "blue" on the other hand..............
