I just went to look at a W reg sv650, blue

it's only £2250 but it's done just over 20k

anything i should be aware of?

it looks a mint bike, no scratches. it's got some pitting on the front forks. is that something normal?

pitting on the front forks is nothing to get worried about. My bike had pitted front forks after only 4000 miles. It's a common fault on all pre 2003 sv's

At this time of year don't pay a penny over 2k.

The pitting on the front forks is when the laquer gets damaged and the water starts to attack the metal underneath. As said before it's nothing to worry about (as far I have read on this website + many others + talking to all the mechanics I know).

There are pictures somewhere (can't remeber if it's sv650.org or somewhere else) of someone renovating their bike and the results on the forks are amazing. If it wasn't for the fact that I don't feel like taking part my perfectly good forks I do it myself.

Shutdown,

Where are you from? SVSK2 has a mint 650s, 2001, 20k FSH Anyone who knows thsi bike will testify to it beinging the cleanest SV ever.
(Jonboy don't get upset)

It's in London, so if you are near the smoke it wou;ld be well worth a look. It's in at about the same price range as the W reg you are looking at.

If you want more details PM me.

Its also a problem on the later SVs. Many in the trade reckon the later SVs are even worse built than the earlier ones.....if thats possible!
