Default Couple of cutouts ??

Today on the way to work, for the first time ever, the bike cut out twice. No warning, nothing, and restarted with the starter button whilst still on the move.

As this was in shocking wet weather, could this be related to the exposed front plug / need for a fenda extenda (which I would have thought would lead to a more spluttery stop) or possibly something else?

Saw the post a couple down from this one, but wanted to make a separate post, as I also want to ask which fenda extenda comes recommended (looking at the Pyramid one so far).

Cheers!

Mine done this as well, but it was dry. Check the following:-Spark plugs, side stand switch, slack stand springs and chaffed wires under the seat.I gave her new plugs and she has not done it since.Good luck p.s i've got a pyramid fenda extenda.

what model bike is it (carbs/fuel injected)?

Earlier models (up to K2 I think) had problems with wires chafing (as Karen says). Three points to check are behind the 2 front seat fixing bolts (they're too long and hit the harness behind), and under the pillion seat where the harness goes round the edge of a frame bracket, left hand side towards the rear.

Thanks for the replies.

It's a K3 model but I'll do some of the basic checks this weekend.

Although no problems either yesterday coming from work or today going to and fro between places.

I've got a K3 and had the plugs changed on the first service. The K3's original plugs (I think they are NGK's) were causing them to cut out, so suzuki have recomended that they be swapped for champions I think. My mate had loads of cut outs on his K3 until he had the plugs changed on his first service. Now both are fine.

My K3 cut out when i got caught in a proper down-pours, then spent ages jumping around like a kangaroo mis-firing etc while drying out, dont know if its coincidence but since getting a pyramid fender extenda fitted to the front guard, seems ok touch wood, no more cut outs, will be looking at the spark plugs proir to the next service anyway,
