Default What's the best way to cover up bad marks on bodywork?

The bloke who owned my SV before me never removed his grab rail, and as such some quite bad damage has been done by it on the paintwork either side of the tail unit. I've got some colour matched Suzuki touch-up paint, but this is really only any good for small chips or scratches, and these marks are more like inch long gouges all the way down to the black plastic. I don't really want to have to get the whole thing resprayed, so can anyone suggest a decent fix for these?

Cheers.

If it's through to the plastic, probably nothing you can do apart from cover it with stickers or similiar I'm afraid... But the touch up paint could maybe give a decent resultif used carefully (and with a proper brush, not the one that usually comes in the bottle) and finished with clear coat... Grab rail shouldn't usually do that to the paint though, weird one.

My grabrail has done it very slightly to the seat unit also- the lower edges on the 1st gen sv's grabrail can chafe on the bodywork. I have now taken the rail off, but whilst its on, I put some little squares of adhesive carbon to stop the paint rubbing off.

As far as covering the scratch up- the best way is to get a nice female **** to sit on it- or conversely a bloke (don't want to dicriminate anyone).

Or you could just use stickers- but a nice gals **** looks miles better :P

If the grabrail did the wearing... Put it back on and it'll probably hide it?

It was definitely a design flaw with the first generation models. My first SV did the same, but I managed to spot it whilst the damage was only a slight paint blemish on one side, but my current SV has had four plus years of chafing, so the damage is quite extensive.

Stickers aren't an option (done that before so know how crap it looks), so it seems I'll be out with the fine brush this weekend.
