Default In the market for an undertray

Time to get rid of the parachute from my SV650S K2. There's a few around but I'm wondering which one to go for. So far, I've seen the Pyramid (£75 non painted) and the Powerbronze (£55 non painted). I plan on painting it myself and I want a plain one without lights or indicators.

Anyone fancy recommending one for me? Any to avoid?

Also, I need to paint it silver - any hints on that?

Cheers!

Aye, as ever I'd recommend the Suzuki one- it's more expensive, around £110 IIRC but it incorporates a number plate light, proper indicators, it fits perfectly without any chopping, and most importantly it comes colourmatches into the price. It's not quite as pretty as most of the others as it retains a proper underseat storage compartment with an internal part to stop everything from ending up in the battery box, so it's slightly lumpu underneath. No drilling or cable ties or sawing or cursing, just take out the old one and put the new one in- lovely.

The only donwer I can report is that mine cracked around the battery area- it's a more brittle plastic that the stock one and so it doesn't seem to take kindly to having the battery bounce on it. In its defence, it probably took a kicking when I binned the bike, the rear end kicked like a mule and that would have slapped the battery about.I just fitted rubber washers and larger washers to spread the load and it's been perfect since.

Sorry, can't help with painting tips but you could put a bid on this.

I've got a colourcoded Powerbronze one - good bit of kit TBH... I think they're about £125

Mmmmm - The Suzuki one sounds nice....... I was a bit anxious about the battery flapping everywhere.

I think all the trays have some sort of battery retention, some of them reuse the stock part... Mine's ended up hung from teh subframe by cable ties anyway

The Powerbronze undertray is fitted over the original one, so the battery is safe & sound
