no wonder I'm getting my ass whipped--My current bike--ZXR400 was dynoed at a heady 67hp.

SV is only 69 - 71 ish! It's probably the grunt out of the corners where they are making up the time.

Thats due to it being an IL4!
Great looking bikes though.
Do you mean you get your ass whipped by SV s or some other means?!

old school racebike looks, sweet, but the daddy in that league is the ZX7RR in racing green.

No it isn't It's coz it only has a 400cc engine

zxr400 along with the rs250 were the two bikes that really made me want to get into biking, but Rictus is right the other was the 7rr...

We had great fun racing against tuned 400s at Cadwell and Lydden earlier this year.

They were blinding down the straights but bizarrely the SV650s could carry almost as much corner speed and haad much better grunt ont he way out.

The best way of getting by was to nip up the inside on the brakes, get in the way in the corners and use the grunt to pull away. Once you had killed their corner speed you could get away and wouldn't see them again for the rest of the race!
