Default TOP 10 BIKES

Good result for the SV on Men and Motors top 10 middleweight bikes
last night. It came fifth beating amongst others Yamaha R6 and Fazer, Triumph Daytona and Ducati 749! Suzuki GSXR 600 won!

Apart from the Fazer none of the other bikes mentioned are even remotely similar in purpose to the SV.

Seems like they wanted to do a sports 600 test and realised that there are only 7 or 8 bikes in that catagory.

Last year the SV was pitted against the Monster 620, hornet, fazer, etc, bikes in the same class (budget/commuter), still did rather well if memory serves.

Please note that I didn't watch it so I might be talking tosh.

Once a year when the new models are released.

Take for example the Daytona, this bike will obviously be different to last year (going from 600cc to 646cc), so needs a new comparison to its peers.

But it does get a bit boring after a while.

Thats the point. The SV is different in purpose to the others. A great all rounder, thats why it did so well against that company.
Oh and Jabba, they didnt even bother mentioning the Hornet, let alone featuring it!

But the point is that an R6 isn't designed to be an all rounder is it.

Do the same comparison on a track and the out come will be different.

They didn't even mention Europe's biggest selling bike in 2004

Perhaps they wanted the result to be in doubt?

Whereas, that was NOT the point. Most people buy supersports to pose on the road, with the very occasional track day thrown in. Take into account the overall cost of ownership and all things considered, the SV came out better than the R6. Thats not to say on the track alone , the R6 is a better bike. No ones denying this.
