Default eye ball silver K4 on A40 with glowing red exhaust

morning.
I followed a silver K4 in this morning from perivale ish into london town down the A40 and within a couple of miles the rear of the exhaust was glowing red... and it smelt very hot. a little bit like a gas powered fork lift truck.
is this normal?

when i say the rear bit of the exhasut, it was the center tube as it comes out of the can.. but you could see the entire insdies were glowing.

sounded like it was running a bit rough aswell..

is this anyone off here??

Someone's a/f mix is disasterously off, from the sound of it... Either that or he's burning a lot of fuel in his exhaust. Either way, glad it's not my bike
