If you just want the can, you will have to cut the pipework. Alternatives are a full system or getting an old system and cutting the can off that and use your original as a spare.

Does that make sense? It does to me, but I generally talk gibberish anyway!

Why don't you want to cut the original can, its easy enough, if you dont want to cut it you'll have to get a full system which is gonna be expensive

As has already been said, the cheapest option (by far) is to cut the original pipework Must companies supply you with a link bracket to re-attach the stock end-can for MOT's etc anyway

A full system will cost big money

When I was at the MCN show at the weekend, I went all round the can stands, as I have been looking out for one.
Micron (and if you are interested then I can dig out te bit of paper) offered me a full system for £320, but the price would only last for a couple of weeks after the show.
Other than that, if you want cheaper then you are gonna have to cut. I was also a little worried about this, but have been assured by the people on this site, as well as the can manufacturers that this is no big deal.
By the way, I am now waiting delivery of my new Evo Bluefalme Titanium Twin ! And just for £210 !

Or you could get another standard system off eBay for under 50 quid and then cut that...

You can get quite a few road legal cans with removable baffles nowadays (i can recommend the remus revolution). They perform and sound like race cans with baffle out but you can stick it back in for MOTs so no need to worry about having to re-attach the original can.

Some companies do 3/4 systems that replace the rear header pipe but not the front, no cutting there... But IMHO it's a waste of money. Just cut it! if cheap's your goal then probably a Scorpion or Art slipon is your solution.

'S a good price for the Micron system but it makes more sense to get a better, used one. There's an Akrapovic up on ebay at the mo for £250 IIRC and there might still be that dirt cheap M4 in For Sale...

Any chance you can take a picture of it and post it on here, its hard to understand what you mean

Edit it does sound like somebody has cut your can already, is their a clamp round the exhaust at that point ?
