Hi - I'm a new member and hopefully - very soon - will be an SV650S owner. I've got a budget of up to £2300 and am looking for a used SV. I'm thinking that'll get me a 1999/2000 with 15-20k on the clock.
I'm coming back to biking after a break of 10yrs odd (previous bike RD350LC). Done a bit of research and the SV seems the one for me. However, I'm 6ft 2in and I've read that SV's are good for shorter riders. I'd really appreciate any help, advice, offers or info. Also, is there anything that I should look for or avoid? I'm going to look at an import tomorrow - anyone had any experience of these? Cheers |

get a blue one - they're faster than the others
![]() seriously, find one in a dealers and have a sit on it - unless you're very short or very tall, there won't be a problem naked bikes are a bit more upright - the pegs are higher and the bars are lower on the faired bikes, which makes them more suitable for the open road, and the nakeds are better around town, although at the end of the day there isn't much in it. Now's a good time to buy - prices will be at their cheapest ![]() |

I'm 6ft 4 and don't have any problem with the SV.
Like has been said... get down to a dealers and have a sit on one. |

I'm 6'2" comfy riding position for me, even on regular 100 mile+ trips.

take a check of the headlights on the bike Imports usually have one lens with a clear area (on the age of the bike your looking at)
If it does have this you'll probably need to get a new set of head lamps because it should fair its MOT!!!

Keep an eye on the 'For Sale' forum on here too. Bikes are usually resonably priced. (if they aren't someone will tell the seller
