Default my sv and the rain

i was coming back from peterborough yesterday the heavens opened,i mean it ****ed down .now i know the front plug gets all the water from the front wheel but is there a tip to stop me breaking down on the A1'M' again !!!!!.

Get a fenda extenda for the front mudguard.

I don't have one as I try to avoid riding the SV in the rain. Been caught out in it a few times though and never had a problem.

I just splatched the end seal and drain hole with waterproof grease... I'm told a more effective way is to cover the end of the plug with nonconductive grease but this way seems to work fine- didn't conk out while riding 50 metres through a flood, or crossing fords You do need to clean it every couple of thousand miles as the grease dries up.

Fender extender's handy anyway to keep things cleaner and protect the radiator but I don't think it's needed really.

that's more like it , i used WD40 to get me home which helped. so you mite have the answer northwind

There's about 20 different ways of fixing it and they all work I hear the nonconductive grease fix lasts as long as the plugs, which is obviously better than my way, but I've never actually tried it...
