I just watched it again and as Rossi said, Sete bumped into him twice.

Id have a lot more respect for Sete if he didnt moan everytime an incident like this happens. Racing is racing and when the stakes are so high, things like this can happen. Remember last year when Rossi finished 4th in the wet (cant remember the track but it was the one where he was nearly flicked out of his seat), and when the race was over he said he was beaten by 3 better men today. Why cant Sete be the same and admit that he is challenging an absolute motorcycling genius who will go down in the record books as one of, if not THE best ever?

I thought those last two laps were awesome, the move at the last corner was a bit iffy, but if Sete had held his line, Rossi would have had to go around the outside - as it was he got used as a brake instead. Not sure whether there's any grounds for a stewards enquiry - I wouldn't be surprised if there was. Blooming good telly nonetheless.

Whatching Eurosport, they got a word from Shakey Burne and he said Rossi wasn't in control because he had his foot off the peg when they came together.
Love Rossi, ![]() ![]() |

Rossi is awesome - it was the best battle since Edwards vs Bayliss for the WSB title...although that was ALL race.
I agree with Philc - it was Gibernau's line to defend; he gave a chance to a better rider. I'm not smart enough to argue with S Byrne Esq but if you watch Rossi's left leg going into corners, he takes it off the peg quite often...sort of wafts it around, but ALWAYS in control!! He says he trains on Supermotos a lot, practising his driftng. Any connection do you think? |

It goes without saying that not only is Rossi the most incredible rider but he also has that ruthless streak that always sees him close to the acceptable limit.
Sete is a fabulous rider,(he gets a bit of bad press me thinks stemming from the silver spoon element due to his Grandpa being Mr.Bultaco) In his defence though he is possibly the best to challenge Rossi at the moment, I mean I dont know that you could put anyone else on his Honda and watch them do better? Furthermore, although he did behave like a bit of a Diva after the race and most certainly must have been completely hacked off at Rossi. He refused to discuss the incident with the press, not wishing to detract from an excellent race nor get in to "politics". My 5 centimos worth.... ![]() ps...Going Ducati shopping Friday! ![]() |
