Default Powder Coating

I've decided to have mt wheels coloured the same as the "amber" bits on the rest of the bike. Not having done this before, should I:
  • [list:096fc487a5]1) Have them powder coated ?
    2) Have them painted ?
[/list:u:096fc487a5]

Any idea how much it will cost and where I can get them done ??

Amber!

You mean Ginger mate!

Anyway...have it on good authority that if you are just going one colour then just get them painted...most resprayers will sort it for you.

Good luck!

Would definitely say get them powder coated rather than painted...

PM Viney, I am sure his wheels are powder coated and from what I remember when friends have had stuff done, its not tooo expensive...

From what i have heard, Powder coating gives the best finish, and on a fine bike such as a gixer you want the best!!

I have heard £50 (that is either total or per wheel can't remember which)

Ginger is what you put in cakes mate !!! The official Suzuki colour is "amber", although I would say it was orange myself. Still, they need doing...

Worth putting this one up in Biking Issues as I would be most interested in the suggestions and the differences and pros and cons of both!

You will have to tell me where you get it done when you do!

As requested, moved from Soho to Biking Issues (I put it in Soho as I was after the number of a local place that could carry out the work).

steve, if you find somewhere reasonably priced, let us all know - would also be good to have a 'how to' re: preparing your wheels/ etc for powdercoating...

(want mine done too, but black!)

BTW, don't you think the orange wheels might make your gixxer look less classy? try it in photoshop 1st - may look minging...
