Ok here's the puppy. Had a proper bit of love, and a thorough service. See if you can spot the differences over a stock boringbike
![]() ![]() ![]() Now take a guess, don't peek lol. Heres the new bits: ![]() Scrummy brake discs. ![]() New sprocks and chain (yes gold sluttyness- but it was predictable with me wasn't it?) ![]() Home made tank spacers. It's all very scrummy now. Brakes have properly bedded in, and have Carbone Lorraine pads biting on them. They are very effective, especially from speed, but when time and money allow I'll put braided lines on it to get a bit more feedback. The gearing (15/47), makes the bike very funny...much much perkier, and far more entertaining and usable for the roads (twisty b-roads) that I like to ride. It still does 135 (feet per hour officer) so can't be too bad at all, as I've never had the bike over that before anyway. Gets to 130mph very sharpish, and then take a smidgen more time to get the extra 5 out of it. I can't speak as to how its effected the economy, nor do I really care if I'm honest. If I ever do work it out, i'll let those know who are intrested. The tank spacers (my own handiwork, originally alu barends beleive it or not), I'm not sure of.... yet. I removed the under tank foam too whilst I was at it. They work like a treat in what little warm weather we have had, really improving the midrange, sound and most noticeably the top end of the bike. In the cooler and wetter weather however, they seem to cause the bike to run slightly lean right at the top of the rev range (8k plus). It's nothing the bike won't pull through, but it's not nice all the same. I'm guessing its caused by the fact in the damp the volumetric efficiency is up, and add that to the extra air its getting, bingo you have a lean spot). Lean running isn't good news anyway. SO I'm asking those who have tank spacers on a curvy, what kind of experience do you have with them, particularly in poorer weather? Are these a summer mod only? Hope you enjoy the pics, and feel free to ask questions etc. I hope some of you can answer mine. Cheers Dan. |

Yea, unfortunately uploadhut doesn't give you a full size preview. My mistake, should have resized them a bit beforehand.
Sorry folks. Dan. |

Pictures have been re-hosted, photobucket seemed to do the trick.
Discs are Stealth Wavey Items. Any ideas on the Tank Raisers? Dan. |
