You'll need to know the dimensions of the donar arm and your existing swinger. If they're the same excellent, then all you need to worry about is the shock linkage and the chain run.
VFR750, late 90's, arm is the most popular as it's the least involved swop, avoid the VFR400 wheels, they're mostly 18". The other option is to ask PEST, Spondon or some other engineering company for a slot-in replacement. Expensive but very exclusive. |

I've not actually been able to find any useful info on swingarm conversions on SV Rider, to be honest... I'm intrigued by the idea but no way would I want a crude cut-and-shut job, and getting a pro one scratchbuilt would be too rich for my money. They say the 95 VFR750 one is a relatively simple fit, but how it affects the geometry is a different question.
However... I do know that a SRAD 600 swinger is a very, very close match to the carbed SV- only the shock offset gives a problem, as the shock fouls one of the beams. And there's quite a few SRAD single siders out there, so maybe one of those could be shoehorned relatively easily.

Most of the SRAD single siders I've seen have been VFR or the uber rare Harris version.
Personally I don't think it's worth the effort, unless you know of a proven case where it was successful. Nothing worse than spending tons of tiem and effort, only to discover you've turned a perfectedly good bike into a pile of crud. Nice to look at, but shocking to ride. |
