Is the G pack the same as the TRE mod... ie 15K ohm resistor between two wires... if so there the Mod by Tim Coombes is...Here
It's 4th from the bottom.

Well, there's 2 schools of thought... Most people just say it's the exact same as the homemade fixes, but Rictus tried one in his carbed SV and said he thought it was more effective...

He's the only convincing argument I've ever heard that it's not just a horrendous waste of money, mind... Most people can't tell any difference before or after anyway... I certainly couldn't.

I'm thinking about doing the homemade fix on my K2, but have the technical know-how of a cabbage. Is there much gain to be made? Has anybody noticed a difference?

I thought that doing the TRE mod meant you lost the FI mappings for ther 2/3rd gears (presumably it uses those from another gear?), would the G pack retain the FI mappings, whilst just eliminating the Throttle Retard?

As northwind said above, I've used one on the "classic" SV and swapped between the wire mod and G-pak, several times.
although not scientific or on a rolling road, the tests were done back to back, on the same bike, over the same roads.

the conclusion, well the bike feels more responsive with the G-pak, I tried looking inside to see what was there, but it's all resin bonded, so no joy.

I wouldn't buy one for the £90 or so, but for £20 (what I paid) it's neater and although not a hugh difference, it's there.

how it works ? haven't a clue, not a cost effective mod, but find one cheap and it's worth doing.

Cheers Mark.
