Default Sidestand down - Engine keeps running

Since i had the accident a while back the engine keeps running when i put the sidestand down...

I can remember that it always used to cut out as soon as i put the sidestand down.

Did i forget to connect something ? Any ideas ?

The engine should cut out if the sidestand is down and you put the bike in gear. If it does not check your sidestand switch as they sometimes get crudded up.

Should keep running. Only stops if you kick it into gear.

it should only cut out if the bike is in gear... if its in gear and not cutting out check the sensor on sidestand, give it a little lube you should be fine!!!

That's the thing the engine keeps running even in gear when the sidestand is down...

The sensor seems to be fine though. Already gave it a clean and lube.

the two wires from the sidestand could be shorted together, which would negate the switch.

might be worth buzzing them out with a meter before buying a new switch?

no it's not a legal requirement.

Cheers Mark.
