Default new tyre, your opinions?

My backtyre has gone to the tyre shop in the sky and im wondering what is the best choice for a new one.

It was a standard dunlop sportmax that came with my 2004 SV. If I get a softer back tyre ( cos I love getting my knee down etc!!) will it upset the balance as the front is still a harder dunlop?

I find the dunlops a bit twitchy when your leaned right over

opinions please!

Check the tyres section.

Conti Road Attacks are truely excellent.
Metz Z6's are really good too.

Bridgestone BT010 or 014 have a good rep but some people dont get on with them in the wet.

Just got a BT010 (because the shop recommended having the same on the back as the front) and I find it amazing. Realy inspires confidence over the Z4 that was taken off.

However what it's like when not paired up with a BT010 on the front I have no idea...

I had 020 rear 010 front. They work well together but found the 010 only lasted the same as the rear. For someone who can not afford to change tyres every 4000 miles I wouldn't recommend 010's.

I have the Conti Road Attacks now fitted and so far well impressed with them.

If you go to Essential Rubber Will you should be able to badger them for about £160 (tell them that's what's being bandied about on this forum).
