Default Help bit dropped off Part 2

Does anyone recognise what this nut is from?

It was on the Garage floor after I had fitted some R&G CRash protectors. Obviously I am concerned because I had the engine bolt out.

Anyone got any ideas?

A picture of the nut concerned would help!

I take it they were the new R&Gs that require you to have the bar that goes through the engine out and the bolt on either side (to the front of this)?

No no no.

It appeared on the floor after I had slid the engine bolt out to put the R&G one in for the crash protectors.

It could be from anywhere on the bike. It might not even be off the bike. I wondered if anyone recognised it?

Northwind you are a legend thanks.

As for me, well I am a total nob. It was the bolt from the bottom of my torque wrench. Don't I feel a right fool now!

Oh well the first of many mistakes modding my new bike

Could have been worse... My first ever mod was snapping an exhaust stud on my Virago

Goes to show the site works Dan.

We all make mistakes and it helps when you have such a wealth of friendly knowledge on here.

Certainly didn't recognise that myself.
