posted in another thread, but I am vexed
![]() Totally peed off now ![]() Yesterday I ordered a Remus Titanium High level pipe and can, the dogs bollox! I paid a deposit and booked the bike in for fitting at Wrexham. 7.30 this morning I had a swift ride to Demonic Freaks and when I got there, they had no record of the booking, just a collection order ![]() I arrived at 8.50 and gave them my details, they had a can and would try and fit me in after changing 2 tyres on a VTR. 2 hours later, I wandered into the workshop, the bike was not started on. The manager told me he didnt have anyone to fit it as the bike mechanic rang in sick at 8.30 ![]() An hour after this, when he agreed that he could fit it himself, but the template was in the mechanics box and it might not work, because the instructions were in German, (surprisingly enough, seeing as Remus are a German company) It also said "Cut Here" 40mm from the weld in 3 languages ![]() 1 hour later, I looked at the bike and when he saw me, he told me that there was a bracket missing, and I would not have a rear footrest. I was aware of the foot rest, I dont carry pillion anyway. Anyway, the bracket was still missing from the box ![]() Are these interbreeds just taking the ****? he said I would have to come back some other time. Instead i got my deposit back and came home with a sad face ![]() |

Do it yourself, all you need is a hacksaw, some sticky tape to mark the circle at the cut point, a screwdriver, a spanner, and a torque wrench (or a regular wrench)
Once you have cut the stock can off it's a piece of ****. I am virtually mechanically inept and I managed it. Plus then you don't have the hassle of lugging a very heavy (8kg) stock exhaust home with you. |

Does anyone know about the missing bracket? is it a Remus part?
I still quite fancy this system, but I will get it from Fred in a Shed somewhere nearer Derby. I cant believe that 2 exhaust systems both arrived without the mounting brackets ![]() The high level can mounts to where the right footpeg lives, it seems like a straightforward job when you know where to cut the pipe. 40mm from the weld according to the Remus instructions |

![]() This is what I got with my high level kit (below) ... this is the bracket which attaches the end-can to the footrest mount (below,) is this the one ![]() Turns out I didn't need the exhaust strap, Christ knows why they sent that (but it is promised to someone, before I get requests ![]() |

I think that must be the bracket, Thanks Cloggsy.
Although mine is a K2, Im sure that is what was missing, or hidden ![]() It seemed as though the can had 2 allen screws to mount it to the bracket, although I suppose the can is the same for low level and high level fitment. and the only difference is the link pipe I wanted it fitted so I could make a noise next week blatting round the Cotswolds, but today I spent some of the money on beer and women, I wasted the rest :P |
