Got a stop yesterday for going to fast round one of my favorite bends.
Mr plod was going the opposite direction, but as it was a NSL road and well under 60, no worries, git turned round and stopped me. He attempted to accuse me of taking the bend to fast. When I asked him if he was or ever had been a biker he said"no". "So how do you know what is too fast?" "you were leant over" "Of course that is how bikes go round bends. I was on my side of the road about 3 ft off the pavement so under control". "well I think you were going too fast". So he then decides to go for the bike. Legit plate, loud can, but no markings, lights, horn, tyres are all good. Then "Have you got your documents?" I always carry them. sealed in a plastic bag inside my leathers. takes up no room so spoiled his day with them as well. However my MOT expires today. I gave him my old but still valid certificate and never mentioned I got a new one two weeks ago. He did comment that the MOT was only just valid. I bet he is sniffing around where I live today just hoping to nick me without an MOT. This is the second time in the last couple of years where I have been able to produce docs at the roadside. I just wonder how many people tend to carry them and whether it stops twits like this one from persuing hopeless vendettas.

![]() I am always worried about being pulled by bike-ignorant police. It'd be hard to say,' look mate, you don't understand bikes at all, how can you say what is safe?' in a polite way. The sound of accelerating hard (and indeed, just engine noise in general on a bike) can make you seem to be moving quicker than you really are to observers. I only carry my insurance details (rather than certificate of) and photocard driving licence (not the paper part), bike isn't old enough for MOT certificate. |

The Dutch don't MOT bikes so not got one of those, But for the rest I have no choice. They can fine you an amount of cash over here if you are stopped without your docs.

I don't carry any of it... maybe photocard license if I have my wallet with me, but really it's only the breakdown/assistance type stuff.
But then I've never been pulled... |

I only ever carry my licence and only reason I do that is in case of an accident they know who I am and where I live. Never carried anything in the car either.
Producing them at my local nick wouldn't too much of a hardship, rather that than carrying unnecessary things when I'm out enjoying myself. ![]() |

Only carry driving licence and breakdown card. Anything else is for me not important. If I get a producer, no problem. It only takes a few minutes to go to the police station and it's another excuse to go out and ride the bike.
