Im in the market for new bike now and I have flicking through MCN looking at latestest prices, deals and I was wondering if anybody could answer the following questions -

1) I have seen ZX636 04 for sale brand new 05 plate for £5000 and ZX636 05 with underseat exhaust £7200 but 0% finance avaiable is there any diiference between the models apart from the exhaust to justify the extra money?

2) I also like the R6, GSXR600 and CBR600RR has anybody rode these bikes because im trying to get a realistic review of these bikes back to back instead of a magazine review which just praises the latest model with an extra 1bhp and 0.1kg lighter.

Thanks

They're all pretty close these days. It's down to brand favourite, riding position, insuarance cost, purchase price and which one you like the look of. Used to be all about power but you can hardly get a rizla paper between them on speed and lap times.

Get the gixer, you can put stuff under the seat y'know??

just got off the phone with dealer and for the 04 ZX6R they want £5139 but they only want £6500 for the 05 and you 0% finance.

Plus point you also the petal discs and underseat exhaust.

Unfortunatly they have no test bikes

There are big engine changes between the '04 and '05 636. Apparently the stock '05 bike puts out 110 at the rear wheel!

I think the 05 zx6r has a slipper clutch... for those easy down-changing moments

As Lyn said, get a test on each of them. My comments:

GSXR - Well I have one, and I love it... Just don't get a blue and white one
CBR600RR - A bit too focused and hard, but if you're only doing short miles and not every day then it's an ace bike.
R6 - Lags a bit beihnd the others as it hasn't had much development over the last 2 years, engine is very peaky so it needs to be revved
ZX636 - (05) Haven't tried the new one but it's meant to be the dogs. The 04 bike is still very good.
Daytona 650 - Don't under estimate the trumpet. The new engine gives it that extra upmh just where it needed it. It's always had a good reputation for handling, if only they hadn't forgot to sort the tail out

Confused ? You will be

.
