Default grease on calipers?

Doing abit of maintenance on the front calipers, got some spray to get all the sh!t off and some grease to smear on the calipers
is this stuff ok to use?


Ive heard that some stuff rots rubber.

coppergrease is best for brakes as it is temperature resistant, so doent heat up, melt and run down your discs and pads!

It doesnt harm seals either!

Seals yeh very funny
Now ya see i heard different which is why i asked the question, maybe i heard wrong. I know you use it on the backs of the pads and on the pins but was told not to use it on the actual calipers as it rots the

I suppose rubber lubricant would be ideal or maybe vaseline :P

oops, wrong forum

If its just to protect the aluminium castings then I dont see a problem with those tins you have.

We use coppergrease on truck brakes as they can reach very high temperatures too, Im just frightened of any kind of lubrication around braking systems, they might be shiny, but they dont work when you need em

Copper slip for pads and pins, re rubber grease for pistons!

The grease is red, doesnt mention anything about it being for rubber, anyway it's to late, job done. Pads look as though they're on the way out a couple of lumps out of one of them anyone reccomend any replacements where from and how much, ta
