5mm screw cost me 80 squid!

Well pleased as punch to receive today my bling parts from Casoli.Unfortunately although both the vented sprocket cover and vented clutch cover are gold anodised, they are as different as black and white! Casoli very sympathetic and to correct the match for me. Shame really because both are very nice bits of kit.

So off I went to the garage with my new red pressure plate,stainless steel springs and gold cups. All going well until one of the 6 allen screws that fasten the cups and springs refused to budge.In fact the allen key would not enter deep enough to allow suitable purchase.
Cutting a sad tale short this led to one of the 6 spigots on the cast clutch centre snapping! Guess who is not a happy bunny right now?
It did not fill my heart with any warmth to learn that this is the singular most requested part for the Ducati's!! (So it aint just me! )

Well those nice people at Ducati Leeds are getting a new centre wizzed over to me,(dont ask!) and I think I am going to bite the bullet. A special tool is needed to hold the clutch assembly in order to torque the hub bolt up and so I am going to drop the bike off at the local shop! ( I am a bit p*ssed as I really wanted to do it myself!)
Fortunately for the 1km ride the clutch should be ok with just 5 pressure springs on it rather than the full 6.(I hope!)

I think I should just stick to riding and cleaning her from now on......very down hearted just now.

It'll all be worth it in the end tho, amigo.

Now that your bubble is suitably burst i will say this much. Most of the nice dukes i see around london have the clutch you decscribe.

I didnt want to tell you that before as it wouldnt be a nice thing to do when someone is so pleased with the new item they are about to put on the bike.

Still i think it looks a damn sight better than my clutch does so good luck getting it sorted and lets see the pics when its finished

I live just round the corner from Casoli Moto.Often can be caught drooling through the window at some tricked up MV or Duke.Rather you than me having to look after it though.

Know what you mean.. when i tried to replace the clutch plates on my CBR400 same thing happened, didnt have the tool and were applying quite large amounts of pressure, and we heard something crack. finally got it off and 1 of the four spigots had sheared straight off. Tried so source a new part but couldnt get one in england for at least 2 months - so i spoke to my mate at KJB Engineering, and he welded it for me, ultra sound scan showd it was just as strong as the others, so put it back on and off we went...

ordered a new part anyway 2 months later it turned up so i got it replaced just to be sure - but they old one was still holding in place..

Its a bugger though as i was well cheesed off when it sheered off.
