Default Proof of NCB ??

Right, as Im still relatively new to all this road going stuff, and am now entering my second year on the bike..
I have to send off proof of No Claims Bonus....

Where it gets complicated is that my bike was driven into back in february while it was parked.. nothing claimed on my insurance, as it was white van mans fault!!

But when my previous insurer sent the renewal form through, under the claims part its down as a fault accident.. but costs down as £0

Im rather confused by the fault accident part, as it was someones fault... but not mine! I wasnt even on the bike at the time! My understanding was it would be a non-fault accident....

Whith proof of a No Claims Bonus.. what do I have to send off ?? Will the renewal form do? Or am i supposed to have something else off them? Im going with BikeTeam this year instead of motorcycledirect

I will be phoning BikeTeam and asking some questions anyway, as some changes need to be made to the documentation.. but I dont want to make a fool of myself!

Am I entitled to the NCB whatsits.. even though my insurer coughed up all of £bugger all..... ??

Its all a mystery to me!

Cheers for any help!

When my first year renewal came through the post I too had no NCB shown as I had been hit from behind and the 3rd party accepted all liability. Full settlement except the personal injuries which are still ongoing.

So I complained to the broker who said she would talk to the underwriter who said yes I was entitled. so result.

Talk to you broker

I've never once had to send proof of any NCB either for the car or the bike. So just say you have a year, which you do or should. If they ask for proof phone your previous company and ask for a NCB certificate. I'm sure it's just a small error on their part.

As long as the insurance company can claim all their costs back then you won't lose your NCB.

All accidents go down as a fault accident.

When I drove to Turkey, any accident was partly blamed on us as foreigners, any blame was shared between the driver causing the damage and us. Basically the rule is if you were not in our country, the accident would not have happened

Well, I've never once NOT had to provide proof of NCB - generally in the form of a letter / certificate from previous insurers. Never had a problem getting this though, just ask them to send / fax it to you & then send / fax it on to your new insurer.

Yeah, definitely chase this up... my insurer tried to wipe out my NCB earlier this year after a non-fault accident in December. I had third party fire and theft so couldn't even have claimed on my policy anyway. Had to point this out to Bennetts and Equity Red Star, along with fact that I'd been paid a cheque, etc. for injury, clothing, bike write-off before they would relent and reinstate the NCB.
