I need to sort out some tint for my visor. Are those DIY pinlock kits anygood or am I better off spending a little more and just getting a new visor with it fitted??
Or dont bother with Pinlock and just get a tinted visor??? |

I had a tinited pinlock in my shoei. It was great, but the sun gets in above the pinlock, as it doesnt cover the entire visor.
Go for visor inserts, or a tinted visor. However, pinlock in std clear guise, is bloody fantastic and works very well. HTH |

Personally I would advise getting a tinted visor. |

Never tried pinlock, Had a FM then a Roof.
I use a dark visor and carry a clear one round with me. I used to use sunglasses, tip: Don't use expensive sunglasses cos you will drop them. |

I use my anti-fog clear pinlock insert on my shoi and its brilliant. Quickly get used to rim of the insert. I also have a dark insert but dont really use it. As said above it lets sun in above it (which isnt really a problem for me, when its really sunny its generally hot and i have my viser open an inch which gets rid of the gap adn gives me some air)
However i dont like riding with the dark insert, I like seeing things clearly and the sun is only a problem when its going down or coming up as its at eye / mirror level. |

As long as you can change visors without tools - I am happy with my dark visor (don't seem to need my contacts with it even!)

I thought this when I bought an insert, took it back to shop 'cus I thought maybe they come in different sizes.
The pins need to be facing the right way for the visor to fit-they did this in the shop for me. Felt like a right nonce ![]() |

I needed a new visor for my Shoei, so I bought a pinlock version along with a pinlock clear insert. Works pretty well at keeping the mist away until the recent cold weather.
It's not the visor misting up, but my spectacles.... So the foggy mask has been dug out of the drawer and the combination of both works well. As for the gap above the pinlock insert and the problem with the low sun, well I always place a strip of black insulation tape along the top of my visor to block the sun. John
