Seat Cowl Bolts... - SV650.org

Hi,

I just bought a Suzuki Seat Cowl for my K3 SV650S and was wondering if anyone else has this problem. The 2 flaming bolts that attach the grab rail to the subframe just spin on its axis. I used a 12mm socket to start to undo the bolts and it undid a little way but thats it, now it just spins around without doing up or unscrewing! How can i get these bolts out? Someone suggested drilling the bl**dy things out...

So now the grab rail is loose and i can't get the bolts out! I've got an undertay to fit aswell so i can't just leave the rail on! Anyone else had the same problem? I don't wanna be stuck with the nasty mass of black plastic at the back any longer!

So it seems no one else had this problem!

Ok then, how would you get the bolt out the subframe if you can't unscrew it???

Chopst1x,

sounds like you have sheared the thread to me and now the bolt cannot unscrew, have you tried getting something under the head of the boltand lifting as you turn? if this doesnt work easily then dont force it as the last thing you want to do is shear the bolt hole (if you havnt already) in which case you may be best off drilling out the bolts and getting replacements which will be the cheapest option.
