Default Suspension/Shock setup advice please.

Hello - i've had my K5 SVS for a few months now and am now putting more miles on it (nearly 1200!).

The one thing i've noticed is that it handles better with a full tank of fuel in it than when empty or close to empty.

By this i mean it seems to feel more planted in the turns and less jittery when you nail it.

Can anyone tell me in non techy newbie terms what i need to do to the suspension setup to replicate this all the time?

Cheers fellas

Dan.

Not as daft as it sounds and is my currently employed method of suspension correction - but i was thinking more long term and for journeys beyond 50 miles!

and i would guess that 15 litres of fuel would weigh 35lbs (1litre = 1kg or 2.2lbs).

I see where you're going - very scientific!

Not too heavy then...

I assume it feels like the bike's skipping over bumps? It may be you've got too much preload. The manual will tell you how to alter this.

Thanks FS - i'll RTFM and see if i cant try lessening the preload for starters.

to adjust the preload you simply turn the screws on top of the yokes, default factory setting is on 3 and it goes from 1 (right in) to 5 (right out), im a fat biffer so Ive wound them right in and its much better, so I assume you need to wind them out.

I need to sort mine out too. The rear's too stiff, and the damping on the front is too, but not the compression!

Jordan, can I blag a ride n your bike sometime? I'd like to see how the power remap changes things.
