I picked up a ZG Double Bubble screen at lunchtime and want to install it tonight, is it just a case of unscrewing the 8 screen bolts, sliding out the old one and sliding in the new ?
Anything I want to watch out for? (I don't want to unscrew a bolt and hear something falling down inside the fairing somewhere). Cheers. |

Unscrew the 4 allen type bolts, but don't take them out all the way... Pull out the allen bolts while they're still slightly screwed in & out will come the rubber gromits that hold the screen in place, then remove the two top screws & there you go

... and maybe put something slippy on the gromets to help them go back in without sticking.

A drop of fairy liquid works well when putting the grommits back in.
I seem to remember that it was much easier once I had removed the mirrors and loosened off a lot of the fairing. It was a bit of a bitch to fit, however once it is on it looks bloody good.

Yep, I got it on last night and it does look bloody sexy
![]() The hamicad fender kit will hopefully turn up before the weekend but I'm not holding my breath, trying now to source stiffer springs for the thing. Sooner or later I'm going to have to buy carbon cans (I've heard a couple of v-twins with carbon cans and they sound fantastic), any recs? I want some volume increase (Los Angeles drivers are hopeless, so I'll take any help I can get), but not up to the obnoxious race exhaust levels, I don't want people to think I'm as obnoxious as the Harley riders round here. |
