Default What should I do about my end can?

I have just been out for a ride on my SV I gave a mate of mine a try and he loved it but he said the exhaust seemed really loud. I've only had the bike just over week.

We looked at the can (Carbon Fibre) and there are no markings on it what so ever. So i'm not sure what to do. It has a full MOT as of last Thursday and it had the end can on when it went through.

Should I just ignore it and hope for the best or try get a 2nd hand standard can if so where? I'm a little SKINT at the moment so cant afford a new can.

very confused!

The first thing most people do is get the standard can off their bike, why on earth do you want it back on?

Noisy is good, Noisy that passes the MOT is even better.

If it is carbon, then it probably needs re-packing (they need repacking around every 5-8k miles).

Personally I like loud cans, however if your can does need repacking then it is worth doing - carbon cans will eventually split/disintegrate once the packing goes.

just because it passes the mot doesnt mean its road legal!
(sounds like a contradiction i know!)

iirc the road traffic act has different rules to the mot test and the police can penalise you for any can that doesnt have an approval stamped on it.

The can has no markings?? Does it have rivets holding it on, or does it have to bolts at one end? If its the later its a renegade

well no-one said it was road legal, but it looks like diveboy wants a standard (i read this as legal) can, and is a bit confused because it passed the MOT.

what i'm saying is that it can pass an MOT but not be a legal can, too loud etc.

I can get a 2nd hand standard exhaust for £55-60 do you think I should just plonk it on for now or wait until Jan when I can afford a suitable legal race can
