Honest advice? Don't bother. You won't ride faster or smoother or better. Unless you're going to take-up racing it's a technique that has zero use on the road and is a fadish style statement rather than the mark of a good rider IMO.

I'm thinking it's being bike related it's Biking Issues material. So it is.

When you approach a corner, stick your knee out and lean. Once you hear the scrape you know you are at your max. Its really easy once you get the knack. Many people say that you cant go faster, but i find on big roundabouts and fast sweeper bends it helps a lot. If you go round a fast sweeper bend going very fast, you tend to run out of line, but if you put your knee down you keep it nailed and it goes round corners like on rails. I go out with Supermotos a lot round the twisties, they put their leg out and i put my knee down and i still keep up and sometime leave them.
Just keep trying on a a road (Private) and then it will come to you very easily. I learnt to do left handers first, strange i know, but i felt safer going that way. then i did it on roundabouts, now i do it on ever corner i come too. You can also get you elbow down if you propa lean ova, but it ends up ripping your jacket or scuffing your leathers. That might be my next invention. Humm elbow pads. |

If you are really that keen on doing it then I would recommend a track day, loads of opportunity to lean the bike further than you ever thought possible without the worry of diesel/gravel/dead animals etc to spoil your fun...

I can do it, but it doesnt make me any faster, in fact i corner a lot faster not hanging off the bike at all! Not advisable in the wet though, then you should hang off
