ok so my 'mitch pilots' are toast practically now, so I rings up a certain 'dealer' in chester sure all you pennine lot will know the one ... on the corner of a tricky one way bit ... anyway and i get a quote for pilots sport/road mix front and back fitted ............. £310 approx !!!!!!!! OMG !! then ask for Bridgestones 020 front and back fitted............ £380 !!! OOOOO MMMMMMMM GGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( don't know if i'm spelling the tyre spec stuff right
![]() So and very special person to me, rang around down south and a particular tyre place, (don't know if i can mention names on this org etc..) quoted ..... ... ...... ......... £199.99 FITTED Bridgestones front and back !!! ride in ride out !!!!! Fooooookin heck !! could have knocked me down with a feather! Mind you me gorgeous man nearly collapsed when I told him about the 'dealer' quote !! So I am actually going to hoon down south to get these 'bridges' fitted, hoon back up and will still be approx £150 better off !!!!!!! Don't make no sense to me !! Never buy tyres from a 'bikeshop'.
As they (usually) have a small turnover for such things there will be little, if any, discount from the tyre manufacturers RRP, typical shop prices are 30-40% under the quoted figures.

As folk above said, try Spannerman. He's in Kirkby, just a few miles North of Nottingham on the M1. Will fit and balance 020s or Continental Road Attacks front and rear for less than half the price you were quoted up North. And you get free biscuits and coffee...

Price quoted is fitted to loose wheels, not sure what they charge for ride in ride out. Don't know if thats local 2 U. |
