Default ACF 50

This anti corrosion fluid that seems to be best at protecting the SV, what sort of film does it leave on the bike?
Is it transparent 'dry' and invisible or is it oily and attracts dirt?

I use Scottoiler 365 which you can't see at all. In fact the only real downside is that it's not water proof.

ACF50 leaves a slightly oily finish, but it doesn't really attract dirt like you'd think.

ACF leave a film, it is not water soluble so you need to use a solvent based cleaner to get it off each year before re-applying it.

FWIW it is top stuff, I put it on the GS last October when I bought it and road through the worst that the winter could throw. Contrary to popular belief BMWs are not great at resisting corrosion, ok not as bad as suzukis but bad enough. The GS stood up very well indeed.

TBH I've not found it to be anything like that effective... It seems to want reapplying every thousand miles or so on exposed parts with mine. Still much less often than FS365 though, so I'd recommend it.

How does this stuff compare with smothering the whole bike with WD40? (which is my usual trick)

Seems to help, but the bike looks a bag-o-sh*te with all the road dirt sticking to everything

It's much, much better than WD40. I sprayed my speed triple with acf-50 when I got it and it doesn't seem to attract dirt. What it did do was smoke like crazy from the downpipes the first time I rode it afterwards. That was a bit embarassing when sitting at traffic lights. You don't need to use much, as a little goes a long way.
