Default Anyone playing out this weekend?

Hi, I just joined the site, my mate El Saxo's been a member here for a while.

I just put a post in the 'Idle Banter' by mistake, I just moved down to near Taunton from Manchester and don't know the area very well. Was wondering if any of you are out for a ride or fancy going for a ride this weekend.

Cheers

Hello Stretchie. Possibly not this weekend unless the weather's nice and then possibly yes, but if no-ones out keep an eye here as we are fairly active. Being mostly southerners tho we like it warm and dry (for riding that is) . The welsh posse seem to put up with the crappy weather but they are probably used to it.

Fizzwheel tends to sort rides down the south end, Valleyboy and Mogs and all over Wales way...where we seemed to go a lot last year...and I tend to go around the Mendips and Wye Walley and welsh borders. Apart from TeeJay the rest are lazy feckers and don't organise much...

Come March we should be out loads.

Great. Well I'm ALWAYS up for a rideout

If I'm asked and say I can't make it out for a ride that means I have somehing V important on. I would drop most anything to get a few miles in.

Not FOND of crap weather but I'll do it...

Feel free to e-mail me.

Yes, we do get use to the weather around here

Seems to me, it only rains when you lot come over here... :P

Though its been really crappy lately.. plus with the road salt down, Ive had one or two fill yer pants moments as the front of the bike was pointing one way, while the back had its own ideas.. though I think I aggrevated matters by twisting the throttle too much

Now Ive done my brake disc, all thats left to do is get it serviced and make sure theres enough rubber on it for a while.. and I shall rack up the miles again

Apparantly every mile you do in the wet is worth 4 dry miles. SOOOOO the more riding you do in any weather (apart from snow and ice, I definately wimp out there) only serve to make you better..

Are you buying this???

Hi and welcome

Not this weekend I am afraid, busy tomorrow and then I'm visiting my parents on Sunday for home cooked roast.

I am not keen on going out in the wet at the moment, by bike seems to be suffering really badly with a wet front spark plug at the moment and I dont wanna ride it away from my usual kind of routes, until I know I've sorted it out, I'm picking up my fenda extenda tomorrow which should sort it out once and forall, although it did with stand a spray with the hosepipe today after I dismantled it all again for the 2nd time so fingers crossed ( which means it lash down with rain on my way back from Amesbury to Yeovil tomorrow and it'll cut out again no doubt )

Doesnt normaly stop me though, you're right riding in the wet really does improve your riding. I dont have much choice at the moment, I dont have a car thats usable as some muppet drove into the back of it last weekend so its two wheels or none or even worse PUBLIC TRANSPORT AAARRGHHHHH

Dr Rich isnt one to ride in the rain he doesnt like to get his bike dirty and he is prone to bouts of panic attacks if he goes to far from his stash of autosol

I'm not that far from you, keep your eyes peeled for rideouts in the future, might drop you a line once I've sorted my bike out

take care, ride safe

Sounhds great mate I look forward to it. I always looking for a reason to get out on it..

Actually, it's my source of transport, I sold my car to buy it in July, I HAVE just picked a friends car up while he's on holiday, I have it for about 6 months but I'm still commuting on the bike. I just love it, although it's much good for 'nipping to Tesco's' to buy a crate of beer
